Here’s a list of the items I’m still going after. Who knows if I’ll ever see them all (doubt it). There’s a few rings on there due to me screwing up my quest rewards while leveling (picked intel rings instead of agility for whatever silly reason)

So I created two new categories “P2P”, and “Outdated”. I’m going to go through all my posts, and for those that are out-dated, I’ll take out of the current category and put into the “outdated” category. The idea is that as I clean them up, I’ll move them back into whatever category they belong to. I’ll also be removed the “MoP” category as this happens.

It just occurred to me why Wowhead uses a black background and white text (its bothered me for years).  The white-quality gear links won’t show up.

Now that I’m using the wowhead injector addon for Firefox I realized that the theme for my blog is bad. You can see the new theme, which isn’t quite as tasty as the last one, but still looks okay (I’d prefer plain white text instead of gray…I think it’d be easier to read).

So there’s a lot of free WordPress blogs out there about WoW and the free version of WordPress doesn’t allow the insertion of the javascript that does the Wowhead tooltip (which is how the twinkinfo forum works). I’ve been looking for something on the browser side, which lets the site behave the same way.

Here’s the solution for Firefox.

  1. Install the Greasemonkey Firefox addon.
  2. Install the Wowhead Tooltip Injector.

Simple as that. There’s apparently some occasional display issues with other sites, but works for me! :)

So I’ve been in love with Heart of the Nightwing ever since it was announced. As far as functionality goes, its a completely unique mount and there’s no other ‘available’ mount like it. Its a passenger mount, of which, there’s only a handful in WoW…here’s a breakdown:

Ground Passenger Mounts – These are ALL faction specific. If your main is Alliance (as is my case), my Horde alts can’t get to them. They require Journeyman riding, but f2p’s can use them anyway.

Flying Passenger Mounts

  • Vial of the Sands - This requires Expert riding and can’t be used by F2P.
  • X-53 Touring Rocket – This was the old Recruit-A-Friend mount and is no longer available. This requires Apprentice riding and could be used by F2P, assuming you already have it.
  • Heart of the Nightwing - This requires Apprentice riding.

Here’s the cheapest way to do it:

Free-On my moth-balled main, wait until I get another free 10-day re-try so I can use the recruit-a-friend feature (you have to have an active account to recruit someone). Create a new email address and send the recruit-a-friend invite to the new email address.

$5-Wait for a 75% discount for the Battlechest and buy it on your new account. This gives you 30 days a free playtime as well. This is a waste of money as I already have the Battlechest on my moth-balled main.

$16-After the 30 days has expired, you purchase your first month of game-time on your new account. I don’t really consider this a waste of money as this purchase also gives you 30 free days on your main so, IMO, its not really a waste of money.

$16-You purchase the 2nd 30 days of game time on your new account. This is a bit of a waste as I don’t really want to play on this account as its going to moth-ball as soon as I get the mount. This event is what triggers the mount reward.

Free-wait until I get another 10-day free retry on my main and claim the mount. (not sure about the time-limit on the mount, so I may have to pay $16 for another 30-days on my main.

So IMO, the cheapest way to do will cost $37 and it takes at least 2 months…BUT that would also give my main a month of play time, which I don’t consider a waste of money. Backing that out, I’d waste $21 to get the mount.
