I hit 11 last night and decided to give PvP a shot to get my PvP bags. It was a pretty pathetic experience. Considering 1/2 my gear is still white, I was a one-shot wonder. I got Mangle at lvl 10 and was pretty impressed with the DPS increase. I thought maybe that could do something, but I couldn’t even get close enough to anyone to use it. Like a dufus, I hadn’t trained Prowl when I hit lvl10. D’oh! That might help a bit, I was wandering around the BG thinking, “GD, this sucks without stealth”.
Trying to be a support healer for a large group didn’t help much either. My HoTs didn’t make much of a dent and I could never get off more than a heal or two before I died. At such a low level with such crappy gear, staying out of the crowds seems pretty wise. Maybe I can find some value in sneaking in with a Rogue, opening with him, and then switch to heals if he needs it or toss an Entangling Roots to help him move the flag.
But I must admit, in the 20 minutes I played before I bailed, I got 30 honor and I’ll probably keep hacking at it until I get 100 honor for the two bags. Not that it’s enjoyable at such a low level, but not a bad time investment for gear that my toon will keep through his entire career…and the BG’s make for a nice little PvE break every now and then while I level.
