Currently, only melee attacks can be Parried. This will change in MoP when all attacks have the same chances for Hit, Dodge, and Parry. Dodge and Parry currently have the same weights.
PvE wise, the above circles are sampled data points of at least 1,000 hits and the line is just a smoothed average between the known points. It’ll change as I get more data (hoping to find a hard formula).
Here’s some thoughts on players:
- Paladins, Warriors, Rogues, and Hunters can Parry melee attacks. They have an approximately 13% chance to Parry. Hunters won’t be able to Parry when MoP hits. Enhancement Shammans and Monks WILL be able to Parry.
- There’s only two pieces of gear available to F2p’s that give Parry, and they’re mail.
- Only frontal attacks can be Parried.
- Casters (mobs or players) can’t Parry while they’re casting.
