During the last DMF, I made a few stacks of Coarse Stone Statues when I leveled Jewelcrafting. I’m pretty disappointed with them so far for two main reasons.
- They only stack in groups of 5, which just really sucks up bag space.
- They trip cooldown of my Horde Battle Standard (although it pops a 2-minute cooldown vs. the full 10-minute when using the item). For me, the Battle Standard is a fairly crucial defensive item (not that I play BG’s all that much these days), and really want it available when I need it. The Statue provides a 180 health HoT (which would be about ~10% of my total health) whereas the Battle Standard provides me a full 15% upfront. I’ll take the 15%. The Statue still provides a backup, but I can’t macro it so its one more thing I’ll just forget to use when I should.
With that, I’m not sure if I’m going to bother power-leveling Jewelcrafting when the fair is in town next time as there’s just really no consumables I can benefit much from.
Edit on 7/17/12: since writing this, I’ve grown more partial to the statues…but it still really blows that they only stack in groups of 5. Each DMF, I make as many as can (limited by bag space) and then use them ’till I’m out and wait for the next fair to make some more.
